Colored Contact Lenses

Teenage is the time of mood swings and personality development. Different teenagers behave differently during these years. If you have a teen at your home with some eyesight problems asking for contact lenses instead of bulky eyeglasses? Say yes!

Contact lenses are perfectly safe for your teen. Studies have shown that teenager that wear contact lenses instead of spectacles are more athletic, have better vision, high in confidence and self-esteem, and even do good in studies. The Adolescent and Child Health Initiative to Encourage Vision Empowerment (ACHIEVE) revealed in one of their studies about teenagers wearing contact lenses for vision correction over a period of three years that they show high self-esteem enhancing their ability to tackle physical and psychological issues more efficiently. Wearing contact lenses instead of spectacles increase their acceptance among friends and increase their physical and athletic abilities as well.

The benefits of contact lenses outgrow their psychological advantages. Teenage is the age to grow and be healthy and active. If your teen is associated with some athletic sports, wearing eyeglasses can really hold them back. Spectacles are not fixed to your face so whenever your kid will try to do something athletic like jump or run hard or anything that will pour out large amounts of sweat will increase the chances of the glasses to slip, fell down and break. Moreover, due to their bulky frames, they obstruct the complete view put your kid at a disadvantage in games like football, cricket, etc. There are special glasses for athletes but they cost an arm and leg. Another problem that your teen might encounter is that the lens of their glasses will get dirty due to dust, rain, moisture, fog and falling down will creat wears and tears and scratches on the lense making is difficult to look properly. All of these problems are simply avoided with a pair of contact lenses.

Teenage is the time for parties and gatherings with friends. Some kids don’t like to wear boring glasses especially if we are talking about a teenage girl. Their eyeglasses don’t match every dress and they definitely can’t buy a new spectacle every time they buy a new dress. But contact lens is a whole different ball game. You can easily buy one for every dress. There is a huge collection of colored eye contacts available online for them to choose from. Moreover, kids love to dress like their favorite celebrities, and with colored contact lenses hey can do anything be like anyone. Haloween is especially one of the favorite holidays among kids and they love to dress up as different characters they love and go from door to door collecting treats and compliments on their getup. There is a huge collection of contact lenses for every Haloween look there is.

All of these benefits and many more are great but you must take a good look at your kid’s habits before you set out to buy contact lenses online. See whether your kid is responsible for his/her daily routine like taking care of there personal belongings, good hygiene, etc. This should not be a problem for most kids as a study revealed that teens and even preteens are more than capable of handling contact lenses and didn’t show any serious effects under observation. Around 90% of the subjects under observation had no problem while taking care of their contact lenses. The kids of these parents reported that they saw a good and positive change in their kid’s self-esteem, physical, and academic performance.

So, to answer the question “Are contact lenses good for your teens?” in a simple way is. YES!

It is perfectly safe for your teens and even preteens to wear contact lenses if they are responsible.
